Things To Do & See On the Island

Little Current:  docks, swingbridge; for gifts – Rain Barrel, Turner’s upstairs; ice cream at 3 Cows & a Cone; Macleans Mountain Lookout above LC (take Morphets Sideroad or 540 west of LC and watch for the sign)

M’Chigeeng:  Ojibway Cultural Foundation; Catholic Church in pines across from the OCF; various native art studios (watch for signs)

Kagawong:  Bridal Veil Falls (must see); stores in this quaint village; docks & little church by the docks with nautical theme

Gore Bay :  stores, Art For You gift shop; harbour; Rocky Racoon Restaurant; be sure to take the East Bluff Road up the other side of the harbour to the lookout above town

Spring Bay :  Perivale Art Gallery

Great Beaches:  Providence Bay board walk;  Carter Bay for sand dunes and beautiful beach (look for the entrance gate and drive in several kms this is a natural sand dune area & quite unique)

Tekummah:  if you are near this small hamlet check out Ward’s,  an old-fashioned general store

Manitowaning:  Roller Mill Restaurant;  old ferry at the dock plus the mill buildings

Coming back up #6 from Manitowaning:  10 Mile Point Trading Post for gifts & great lookout

Hiking:  Cup & Saucer Trail – just off 540 before you get to M’Chigeeng

Restaurants:  Anchor Inn (LC); Bowes Fish & Chips for takeout or eat at picnic tables (LC); Garden’s Gate Rest. (Tehkummah); Schoolhouse ( Providence Bay ); Red Lodge (Manitou/ Bidwell Road );  Roller Mill Rest. (Manitowaning); Rocky Racoon ( Gore Bay ); and native owned restaurants in M’Chigeeng:  Abbey’s,  Seasons
